Always fascinated by thistles, there was no question when it came to name the company. It had to have a thistle in it somewhere! Scottish heritage probably had a lot to do with it as well. When it came to the logo, I went through my vast collection, including my registered trademark, and decided that this rubber stamp on gold really fit the ticket. Simple but elegant, The Golden Thistle was born!
Years ago we had a large pony named Schatzi who would carefully eat the almost dead flowers of the plants without pricking her lips.
The thistle is a unique plant. It is an annual unless it does not finish its cycle. If the plant does not bloom and nearly go to seed, it will return year and year again until the cycle is completed. Schatzi would only eat them when they were about to go to seed! It took her almost 4 years to eat all the thistles on the farm! I often wondered if she missed them when we were thistle free. This is a picture of my son, Joshua, with her.
Joshua, now all grown up, lives in New York City.

SHIPPING
All packages will ship Priority Mail via U.S.Postal Service with confirmed delivery.
Once the package is delivered by confirmed tracking, you're responsible for retrieving it. It is your responsibility to provide us with the correct address. If we have to re-ship because information was incorrect or missing, you will be charged again for the shipping.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
All international purchasers including Canadians are urged to contact us before buying to discuss shipping costs.
SHIPPING SCHEDULE
Packages are shipped within 48 hours of your confirmed payment. At that time you you will receive an email with your tracking number.

Email is answered at least twice a day during the week and usually on Saturday, But we are not available on Sunday. If you don't receive a response, please check your SPAM folder. Some email programs filter out SPAM aggressively. If we aren't included in your address book, our email will be automatically sent to your SPAM folder or deleted. If this is not the case, an Internet glitch has occurred and your mail is lost in Cyberspace so please send again!
RETURNS
Email us within 7 days of delivery receipt if you wish to return or exchange your item. Items may be returned for exchange or store credit only. Please email us for information on returns. Shipping costs are not included in credit but we will ship one exchange to the same address at no additional charge. All returns must have RETURN AUTHORIZATION # on the package. You will receive this number in email. Packages will not be accepted without a RA #.
